Mission Statement
The Office of Assessment and Research Studies supports excellence in undergraduate education through assessment of student learning outcomes and a comprehensive program of research and evaluation studies related to the undergraduate experience. Our primary activities are coordinating the campus approach to educational assessment and providing data and information on undergraduate students, programs and policies for use in decision-making by the Dean of the Division of Undergraduate Education and other campus leaders.
We promote a campus culture which values and uses data and information to make informed decisions, including demonstrating the effectivenss of educational programs through assessment of student learning.
Our values include timely, accurate and useful information and analysis; high standards and professionalism; responsiveness and communication; objectivity, consultation, collaboration and shared responsibility for assessment; and use of technology to achieve efficiencies in office operations.
