Academic Programs and Curricular InitiativesNew Undergraduate Majors, Minors and Curricular Initiatives - Assessment and Research Studies provides initial consultation to campus faculty in the development and final approval of proposals for new undergraduate majors, minors and other curricular and initiatives. Extensive research, analysis and evaluation of all the academic and curricular components of the proposals are undertaken and throrough and comprehensive recommendations are provided. Guidelines for Establishing New Undergraduate Majors Civic and Community Engagement Minor - The Civic and Community Engagement Minor is the first minor to be housed in the Division of Undergraduate Education and is designed to give students the knowledge, skills and values to change their community. The minor provides the studens with the opportunity to use their academic experience to make a difference in the world! UCI Minor in Civic and Community Engagement Writing and Library Research Peer Tutoring Program - This program, originally designed to help first-year students with the demands of college-writing utilizing a peer assistance model, is a collaborative effort among the UCI Libraries, Student Housing, the Division of Undergraduate Education, and the Campus Writing Coordinator.
